Itinerary: Caribbean - Eastern

Overview
We absolutely loved this cruise! The ship is magnificent and those who love history/traditional style cruising will be delighted. The itinerary of this ship is especially nice. You visit the French/Dutch West Indies, the US Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas (Norwegian's private island)

Public Areas
Very clean, always something going on. Activities were well planned and everyone can find something they like to do. Pools/casino were very nice.

Food and Service
We were in the Leeward Dining room. Very nice, but quite gourmet. We got tired of waiting to dress up for the 8:30 seating, then ordering, waiting for each course etc. By the time we'd sat that long we were sleepy. The Great Outdoor Grill was awesome! Always a ton of food on the buffet--we always ate breakfast & lunch there! Mexican buffet in the sports bar was fun in the evenings.

Cabins
Our cabin was one of the smallest and it had plenty of closet space. The bathroom was fine-shower big with great water pressure. Friends told us to go with a small room since you're never in it, but we decided you're never in it because it's so small. Next time we'll upgrade and enjoy the room more. The International Deck is where most of the action is....

Entertainment
We didn't care for the shows. They are very "Bob Fosse" (dance numbers) Which is fine, but not what we enjoy. The dancers were talented, but when they say Broadway, we were hoping for Guys & Dolls or whatever, not so much "Cabaret" Comedians were fun and the movies on board were excellent

Activities
On St. Marten, we did the See & Sea tour which included a Bus Tour, trip in a boat with glass windows in the hull so that you could go below and watch the fish, etc. and time enough for shopping, lunch, etc. When you go to St. Thomas, you should definitely sign up for the tender to St. John early in the morning. St. John is beautiful-the snorkeling was incredible! We'd never snorkeled and I didn't think I'd like it--it was awesome--you don't have to be able to swim, etc. You have excellent floatation equipment and just lay forward in the water and paddle your feet--very cool! On Great Stirrup Cay (the private island) you can sign up in advance for snorkeling & be on the first tenders--there are gentle stingrays that live near shore!

Who Goes
We totally enjoyed the people we met on the ship! Very diverse, friendly, like everyone was family...people visited and shared experiences everywhere you went. NCL provides pastors with free cruises in return for preaching the church services on board & we really enjoyed attending these, our pastors did praise & worship & all during the services!
