Itinerary: Caribbean - Eastern

Overview
Overall, this was the best cruise we've taken. The size of the ship was great. It's small size allowed us to go to ports that don't accept the current monster cruise ships. The crew made a special effort to address you by name. They virtually never disturbed the peacefulness of the ship by using the public Address system. The ship under sail is something you'll never forget.

Public Areas
The public areas were the right size for a ship with 300 passengers. If you're looking for those amateur broadway shows that you see on the big cruise ships or if you can't sail without a bingo game, then this ship is not for you. The main lounge had a great 4 person combo that could sing almost anything. That lounge also had a dance floor. There was a two piece combo at the Compass Rose Bar at the rear of the ship(my favorite place to read or have a drink at sail away). Pools were both salt water filled but really only large enough to get wet in. There were two hot tubs at the rear of the ship. The library was adequate, however they did offer over 800 DVD's as well as a large selection of Cd's for use in tour cabin DVD/CD player.

Food and Service
Food was as good as any 4 star restaurant that I've eaten at. The presentation was very nice. Additionally, they offer a comprehensive cabin service menu - you can get anything that the restaurant is serving during dinning hours. The best yet is the entire cruise is casual (dressy casual for dinner) - no jackets and ties or evening gowns. You can eat when you want and with who you want (we ate at a table for two every night)

Cabins
This is the first time we cruised without a mini suite and balcony, we didn't miss it) The cabins were recently re-decorated and were very comfortable. They had the most storage of any cabin we've ever had. Every cabin has a flat screen TV and DVD/CD player. Additionally they offer 3-4 first run movies every day.

Entertainment
The entertainment was very good as previously described. The casino was small, but those that used it(we didn't) seemed to like it.

Activities
There is a drop down water platform at the rear of the ship. weather permitting, they offer at no charge - banana boat rides and sailfish boats.

Who Goes
The passengers ranged from young couples to couples in their 70's. The average age appeared to be mid to late 50's. Most had sailed on a number of cruises and there were a good number that had extensive experience with WindStar cruises (10+).
