Star Cruises

MS SuperStar Virgo

Your Rating:Five Stars

Itinerary: Orient

Overview
We had a fantastic time aboard the Star Virgo. Everyone was so friendly and the ship is superb. 13 floors of luxury with something for everyone. Casino, 9 restaurants, 7 bars, cinema, gym, library, shopping arcade, golf driving range, basketball court, 2 outdoor swimming pools and much, much more.

Public Areas
At night we liked the Galaxy of the Stars as this is where most of the music & fun & games were. There was a Karaoke bar which was popular with the Asians If you felt like a walk out on deck you could go but still listen to the music.

Food and Service
We preferred the Belle Vista for our main meals as they were mainly western but the Mediterranean Buffet was OK for a snack lunch. The service was 5 star especially on Gala Night when everyone gathered for cocktails with the Captain first. Most people were dressed smart casual (not suits & ties) so it wasn't over the top.

Cabins
We had an inside cabin on the eighth floor which was great for 2 people. There was plenty of room to move and even 3 people would not be overcrowded.

Entertainment
The entertainment was mainly acrobatics & jugglers which is not something I would watch on TV but in real life its amazing to watch. The cruise staff also did a show based on London musicals which was very good.

Activities
We stopped at Kuala Lumpar, Penang & we should have finished our cruise in Phuket but the ship diverted to Langkawi. We went ashore for the Kuala Lumpar trip as we had been to the other places before. It was very well organised with coaches travelling back and forth to the ship so you could return as and when you wished.

Who Goes
There were mostly Asians on board and a few Australians. We are British and there were about 10 other Britons on board also. They normally seat you on your own for dining but one night they asked if we minded sharing a table (which we didn't) and we sat with 6 Australians. We enjoyed it as it helped us make new friends.
