Itinerary: World Cruise Segment

Overview
The ship is very smooth riding and beautiful but had quite a few problems while we were aboard. The greatest problems were plumbing related. Terrible sewage stenches wafted through the ship including the dining room. Most of the passengers came down with the flu. The TVs were inoperable most of the time. The cruise director, (best I have encountered), was fired. The ship lost an engine twice on the "'round the world trip". The staff purposefully withheld information. In all fairness the problems may be solved now.

Public Areas
There is a very nice promenade. The 2 pools were very nice and well maintained. The public rooms are beautiful.

Food and Service
The food was superb. The Old Britts aboard complained about everything imaginable but I didn't hear any complaints on the food.

Cabins
We had one of the less expensive cabins in the forward part of the ship, which was very quiet and quite roomy and well attended. The Toilet only exploded once and it was cleaned up promptly.

Entertainment
We attended most of the shows. Most were very entertaining although a few were not too understandable to Americans, which is understandable. The cruise director provided some of the best entertainment himself. Some of the staff seemed aloof of the passengers inquiries.

Activities
We went to Funchal, Madeira, the Cannarie Islands, Barcelona, Spain, Genoa, Italy, Saint Helena, All over Brazil (including up into the Amazon River), All over the Caribbean, Namibia, South Africa, Madagascar, The Sechelle Islands (sorry about the spelling), Kenya (wonderful country), South Yemen, Egypt (you have got to see the Egyptian National Museum, the pyramids are kind of a let down!), Israel, Turkey (GREAT SHOPPING!!!), Cyprus, Greece, and then Venice, Italy (a beautiful city but the locals are all rather RUDE and like to take advantage of visitors).

Who Goes
The Britts (in general) were outraged that there should be any problems aboard and they dwelled on the problems incessantly. This made it difficult to have meaningful conversations, although we made a few very good and interesting British friends aboard.
