Itinerary: Mediterranean

Overview
A very pleasant 7 day cruise on an old ship that's sill in surprisingly good shape. I would recommend it for anyone who loves a smaller ship with a smooth ride, good itinerary, friendly staff and fellow passengers, and excellent food, service and entertainment. Best of all, no lineups for buffets, or to disembark by tender.

Public Areas
Solaris lounge and adjoining piano bar were pleasant areas for daytime lounging and nighttime entertainment despite the slightly dated decor. Lido deck and pool area had more than enough room and loungers for sun worshippers. Wrap around deck perfect for walkers and joggers, 7 laps to the nautical mile.Theatre, disco, spa and small gym for those who wanted to avail themselves.

Food and Service
Food and service in the dining room were very good at breakfast, lunch and our second seating dinner in the dining room. I didn't hear anyone complain. Buffet breakfasts, lunches and sometimes dinner served at the Lido cafe. However sometimes difficult to find a table in the shade, as they appeared to be very popular. Afternoon tea in the piano bar was a nice touch. Overall, excellent, friendly service in dining room, lounge and bars.

Cabins
Our outside cabin on Emerald deck, despite being a bit dated, was spacious with plenty storage space and a large bathroom with tub and shower where everything worked perfectly. Tatyana, our cabin attendant was particularly attentive and friendly.

Entertainment
Entertainment, from singers, dancers, magician to strolling violinists were all Eastern European and were very talented. The English entertainment director held everything together very nicely.

Activities
Ports of call, from Istanbul, Kusadasi, to all of the main Greek Islands are the main reason for taking this cruise. Most shore excursions seemed to be popular. Had an extremely interesting and entertaining bridge tour conducted by Captain A. Kritikos himself to the delight of all participants. Pool and gym appeared to be lightly used. Not too many children on this particular sailing.

Who Goes
Very friendly mix of passengers with many Americans, despite that week's tragedy, Canadians, British and some South Americans, German and Dutch. So many we met would make very interesting dinner guests.
