Itinerary: Bermuda

I think the Regal Empress was an all right cruise for the money. There were some areas that were in need for improvement. Such as the buffet. Lack of selection for one and the fact that it was the same food every day, o change in menu. The staff is fabulous though. The dining room staff are especially great with the kids, from having the chef cook up a hamburger or making a crown and torch out of napkins for the kids to look like Lady Liberty. I would probably cruise Regal again. A bigger and newer ship should be on Regal Cruises "To-Do List."

I thought that all the public areas were well taken care of and employees were constantly cleaning up after things. The walk-around promenade was great, I hope all my future cruise ships have that feature. The pool was small, very small in fact. I thought it was just like a really big jacuzzi. Even though the Empress only carries 1,180 passengers, on days at sea, it can become packed!

The lunch buffet and dinner buffet needs to be grown. It had the same food daily, and the breakfast buffet didn't have anything hot like eggs or french toast, so getting up to go to the dining hall was a must.

To sum it all up in one word, intimate. We had a cabin that could accommodate 5, so I hope ours was a little bigger. We got the lowest available costing cabin which was on the ships "A" deck. This is the 2nd passenger deck. The bathroom is too small. The shower didn't have any elbow room to even turn around.

It stunk. It was bad, it was really bad. The best things on board were the talent show and the "lip-synch" show, and those the passengers were in. The children's programs also need to be changed to have activities throughout the day!
All the ports were fabulous except for Gloucester, Massachusetts. It would have been better to stop at Martha's Vineyard which is where were supposed to call at.
I would advise anyone who is planning on taking a Regal Cruise to avoid Gloucester. It is mainly a fishing town and nothing more!
The fellow passengers were a mix of families and some older people. There weren't very many singles or couples.
