Itinerary: Caribbean - Western

Overview
Best cruise I have been on yet. The ship was fantastic. My fiancee and I loved every minute of it. We were on the Grand Princess the year prior and Voyager blows it away. Nothing else like it around. With over 3500 passengers on board, the ship never felt crowded. Many people are scared of ships this large because they feel that the ships are unstable, overcrowded or top heavy. Not true, this was the smoothest cruise we have been on. It hardly felt like we were moving. We loved it so much that we have decided to plan our wedding on board Explorer of the Seas for next spring.

Public Areas
The public areas were beautiful, especially the Royal Promenade. We were still finding areas of the ship on our last day at sea. The dining room was spectacular.

Food and Service
The food was exceptional, especially Portofino's Restaurant. The service was also very good.

Cabins
We had an outside cabin with a veranda. That was great. This was the first cruise we have been on with a cabin with a balcony. Very Cool. The cabin itself was roomy, comfortable and well designed.

Entertainment
The entertainment was some of the best I have seen on a cruise. The variety of lounges was also a plus. The High Notes jazz bar on the smoke stack offers great sunset views.

Activities
The itinerary was OK. Jamaica was interesting. Labadee was a pleasant surprise. You can rent a jet ski or a paddle boat and cruise around. Great photo ops of the ship in the bay. Cozumel was great. The jeep safari tour was the most fun we had at any of the stops. You get to drive a jeep off road over dirt trails to a private beach.

Who Goes
We saw the full spectrum of ages on board. Royal Caribbean has done an excellent job of having something for everyone on this ship. Their children's program is by far the best we have seen.
