MV Monarch of the Seas

Your Rating:Five Stars

Date of Trip: June 10, 2001
Itinerary: Caribbean - Southern

Overview
This was my second time cruising on the Monarch & I must say, I had a wonderful time just like i did last year & I did some things different this year that i did not get a chance to do last year!! The Monarch is still looking great although it will be refurbished in September of 2001 & will not be cruising on the caribbean anymore. A new ship will be coming in & the Monarch will be cruising on the Bermuda cruises. I have truly enjoyed this ship & cruise. I will miss the Monarch.

Public Areas
As always, There are plenty of things to do on the ship & all the lounges are very nice. The pool deck tends to get crowded especially the last day which is at sea.

Food and Service
Excellent waiters & table mates!! Both of our waiters were from India & our head waiter was from Turkey. The Flower Drum dining room is where we had dinner at the second seating which was at 8:30pm. The food is delicious as always & our waiters are very entertaining & funny!! They really take care of you. Could not have asked for better service & the staff are splendid!

Cabins
Cabins are very clean, comfortable & of course, your cabin is cleaned everyday! We had a very pleasant cabin steward & she was from Jamaica.

Entertainment
Always there is great entertainment on the ship! I would rate all the entertainers & staff a 5star rating. Very friendly staff & they are always willing to help you with any questions you might want to ask. Those entertainers put on a wonderful show every night & they have the the whole crowd clapping there hands & enjoying themselves. The comedians are very funny too.

Activities
All the ports are wonderful!! I suggest taking a tour of the islands & exploring the beautiful beaches & doing some snorkeling. All the people of the islands are very friendly. St. Thomas. Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia & St. Maarten were all the islands we went to. Also San Juan in which you arrive & take a bus to get to the ship.

Who Goes
All the passengers are so nice & I had the pleasure meeting people from all over the USA & outside the USA. We enjoyed out table mates in which they were from Baltimore. We will miss them & will keep in touch through e-mail. I especially miss the wonderful waiters & wish i could have taken them home with me.... Its so neat to talk with all the staff & knowing they are all from different countries, except the USA. Very fine looking staff!
