Itinerary: Caribbean - Southern

Overview
The repositioning cruise on the Majesty of the Seas was very relaxing and enjoyable, and we thoroughly enjoyed everything about the six-day trip - highly recommend it for R&R and beautiful scenery.

Public Areas
The lounges were nice, although the seats were none too comfortable for my husband (suffering from back problems). The show lounge is very pretty, two-storied, but the columns supporting the upper tier interfere with quite a bit of the view on both levels, thus limiting seating. The pools were nice sized, and there were plenty of deck chairs (as long as people didn't reserve with a towel and then never show up!) - days in port were GREAT at the pool! Plenty of bar waiters, but they don't hound you at all.

Food and Service
We thought the food and service were very good, especially the dinner seating. The dining room service was very attentive and enjoyable. The menus were varied and we enjoyed trying selections we wouldn't normally order at home! Food was very good - we didn't have anything that wasn't well prepared, well presented and very tasty! And there was 24-hour room service available, although we didn't take advantage of it.

Cabins
Our cabin was VERY small, but we remembered that from our last cruise. There was enough room for dressing, sleeping and watching TV, which is basically all you need a cabin for anyhow! The shower was plenty large enough. Closet space was fine, although we've learned to pack lightly from past experience. We were very forward on the lowest deck, in the middle, and it was VERY quiet and peaceful. This was our first interior cabin, and the dark and quiet made for some great sleeping!

Entertainment
We did attend a few of the shows on the ship, a 50's vegas-style review, a comedienne, a well-known singer and some various entertainment acts. They were all good, a few were really good, but the entertainment on the Norwegian line was better.

Activities
We boarded the ship in San Juan, and our flight was late enough that we didn't have time to do anything in San Juan. Then we sailed to St. Thomas and St. Maarten, and stopped at Labadee on the way to Miami. All ports were very nice, easy to get around in, plenty to see and do. Labadee was very nice, plenty of room, plenty of staff, beautiful scenery, a good R&R or beach day. We didn't take any shore excursions this time, and had just as much fun (and spent a lot less money!). Days in port, the ship was very quiet and there was plenty of room at the pool!

Who Goes
The passengers were mostly just your average middle-class people, like your next door neighbors. We enjoyed meeting people from all over the world, and not necessarily jet-setters but just hard-working people enjoying a vacation. And yes, we'd invite them over for dinner at home!
