Itinerary: Caribbean

Overview
There were no long waits and the ship never seemed crowded. I didn't want to leave the ship, myself.

Public Areas
The walk-around promenade was ideal for my mile walks since included some steps to add to the exercise. The view from the bow is quite spectacular and my panoramic photos taken there are proof positive. The decor outside the Princess Theatre are marvelous. Take some time to examine the murals. Likewise for the exquisite reproductions of Michelangelo, Da Vinci and Botticelli in the dining rooms named for them. And unlike Celebrity's public washrooms which look like a navy ship's, Princess makes their's look more like deluxe hotel's, which this ship could double for.

Food and Service
Horizon Buffet was not only impressive in its variety, quality, abundance, presentation and cleanliness, but to avoid these lines and waits that the profiler of this web site fears, the buffet is set up with islands instead of a long line, so you go directly to the food you desire.

Cabins
I had a mini-suite with balcony. It had a bathtub which meant ample room to shower in. The "walk-in" closet and floor to ceiling cupboard was room enough for a 2 week cruise worth's of clothing.

Entertainment
Best production shows I've seen at sea. At least 3 shows going at once so there was variety as well as quality.

Activities
Activities on board were of the usual nature, but the overly friendly staff made such ordinary fare as port lectures a lot of fun. Ports of call were the standard Eastern Caribbean sort and there were plenty of tours to chose from. We were on our own in St. Thomas and St. Maarten and had fun at the beach and did not native craft shopping in Marigot on the French side of St. Martin.

Who Goes
I would have to say that the people on board were friendly and seemed to be having a great time. For a big ship I was amazed how many times I ran into the same people, including a charming pair of senior ladies I met at the nickel machines in the casino. Not only did we pass each other a zillion times but we landed up at the same open seating lunch table. And with 3 dining rooms on a large ship that is quite amazing. Not only would I invite the people over for dinner, but I've already had reunions with 2 couples in February and March
