Overview
If you love classics, this is the liner for you. However, be aware, the air conditioning system is not the best.

Public Areas
All of the rooms on the liner are still of vintage class of the times. The different colors of wood all through the liner is really a highlight. Lighting on the ship is also good. The Ritz Carlton, the Ambassador Lounge, the Theater (with Mezzanine), the Casino all just very elaborately well maintained. The Conference Room just behind the LaFontaine Restaurant is like a scene from the Titanic with the rich wood and lighting. The dining rooms still smack of transatlantic appeal. Mosaic tiles and beauty are everywhere. This is an easy ship to get around in. However, if you get a room outside of the Conference Room. Be aware, that you may not get to the dining rooms by going through it. They claim they keep it locked so you have to get a lift outside the Conference Room, go up to the Main Deck and back down by the main lift. This is an inconvenience to those who have disabilities.

Food and Service
Food overall was pretty good. However, they don't give you much in vegetable portions with your entree. It seems they have scaled back on that. You have to ask for additional vegetables, even for a baked potatoe. The good thing is, on Oriental night, we didn't find anything to please our palates, but we could order for a steak instead with no problem from our Table Steward, both the steward and busboy was very accommodating.

Cabins
Went from an inside standard to outside deluxe due to poor airconditioning in our stateroom. That was located on B Deck, these rooms are one deck above the Laundry Room as our stewardess told us. So try to avoid getting a room on that deck. The outside stateroom was very adequate. Plenty of closet space. Bathroom has a tub and shower, wife had difficulty trying to get the shower to work. Door to the bathroom blocked the toilet, which is really an odd place to put a door. Room was kept very clean. Had to call Housekeeping almost every night for more ice. Bucket was hardly full after dinner. So please be sure and state to your room steward for more ice than what they are supposed to give you or the ice won't last the evening.

Entertainment
We didn't go to any of the shows, but I did hear that the entertainment wasn't the best. Quality of the cruise staff, fair at best.

Activities
The activities are pretty much the same as with other vessels we traveled on. There is an art auction for many things, including cartoon art from Disney. We visited Nassau, San Juan, PR; and St. Thomas. It appears that all of the usual tours were being run in good fashion. I didn't hear of other passengers being unhappy with the tours. There is an indoor pool, you go down one deck outside of the LaFontaine Rest. and down the stairs. There is also a sauna for men and women there as well and 2 exercise bikes. There is one outdoor pool, no jacuzzis. There is a child care service on board, it is located on the Promenade Deck Starboard side, outside of the Queen's Lounge (also very pretty with it's wood.) It's a large room for kids I'm not too sure what it was before.

Who Goes
We dined by ourselves, but other passengers were having a good time with their table stewards and busboys. Would we invite them for dinner? Well, we like a quite atmosphere after a trip.
