Itinerary: Repositioning

Overview
This was a repositioning trip from Barcelona to New York - first or second time they attempted it. They didn't know what they were doing. The staff (those not working for tips) were not helpful or considerate, the Cruise Director hid in her office most of the trip there was no money exchange available they allowed no spare port time and they ignored their paying guests to entertain the city of Rotterdam (ship built there as Rotterdam)!

Public Areas
The public areas are the most beautiful that we have ever seen! But- the public address system was woefully inadequate and half of the machines in the casino were not working the staff of the casino were bored.

Food and Service
The food was adequate when considering the price of the cruise. The wait staff was excellent, as were the bar staff. As a special kudos, the bar manager Chris was out and about talked to his patrons and, more importantly, listened to them.

Cabins
The cabin was great cabin steward outstanding however the plumbing left a lot to be desired due to its age.

Entertainment
The bulk of the "show" entertainment was standard to poor. Bad weather forced some cancellations, and overnight stays in port canceled more. Most daytime activity consisted of lectures. The only interactive activity was trivia and it was mobbed. The Cruise Director and her staff spent most of the trip hidden in the office not out with the passengers.

Activities
Itinerary: Barcelona, Gibraltar, Lisbon, Le Havre, Guernsey, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Southampton, Cork, Bermuda, New York (weather canceled Guernsey and Amsterdam). Not enough time in any port. Staff had no information on the ports except what the port tours were about. No money exchange on ship no information on where to change money in port in Rotterdam. The company gave the ship over to visiting "dignitaries" and ignored the passengers.

Who Goes
Of course a mixed bag of passengers the ones we got to know were great people and we still communicate.
