Overview
Our cruise was a 4 night cruise from Sydney to Auckland on the Pacific Sky. My first impressions of the ship were quite good. The ship is large enough so that throughout the cruise you can always find somewhere to go if you want to sit down and relax. The ship really caters for all tastes and lifestyles. Whether you are looking for a non-stop party or a relaxing week away, the Pacific Sky is for you.

Public Areas
The bars, clubs, lounges and casino are fantastic! The atmosphere aboard this ship was awesome, everyone on board was there to have a great time and enjoy themselves and judging by there faces and comments everyone I spoke to had a great time. There is a different atmosphere in each space. Legends has a 80's feel to it, Starlight the young hip hop dance feel, Rainbow a place for a quiet drink, Horizons another relaxing place. The people which gather at each place varies as well with the younger 18-30 year olds hitting starlight by about midnight once things get moving. Legends was more the place for the over 30's but some people moved between each place depending on the music. The staff really go out of their way to make sure everyone has a good time. The day time events were also really fun. They orgainsed plenty of games and competitions from ping pong to blackjack to horse races!! Everyone who I spoke to all had a great time and agreed they would do it all over again. There were plenty of open deck spaces to sit around and enjoy the fresh air (although the weather on our cruise was a little cool) you could always find a deck chair or sun lunge. The pools were filled on the first sea day but due to the chilly weather I didn't see anyone making use of them.

Food and Service
After reading plenty of reviews on this site and others I was a little weary going in to the cruise. BUT after seeing and tasting all the amazing food I absolutely recommend it. Every meal we had was great, very tasty always fresh and plenty for everyone. The different themed lunches and dinners means you never get bored and you could never go hungry on a cruise ship!! The 5 course dinners were amazing and the variety meant you could always find something you liked. Even friends who were vegetarian said that they had trouble choosing what to eat. The service was great, dinner in particular where everyone is doing their best. During the night when everyone is out partying some of the bar service was a little slow but nothing to really complain about. The choice of venues for breakfast and lunch were good and it meant if you slept in or went for a morning nap you could still get fed when u were hungry.

Cabins
The cabins had more then enough space for 2 of us. Although I suspect that even with four there would be enough room for everyone. Plenty of closet space and draw space the beds were pretty comfortable. We only used our cabin to sleep, get changed and shower. So the video and TV didn't really get much use, except for the music videos playing whilst we were getting ready to go out partying again. No problems with noise from either neighbours or upper floors and the motion of the ship provided a gentle rocking which was quite nice. The cabin stewards were excellent, they cleaned the bathroom and room twice a day and provided fresh towels and water/ice each time.

Entertainment
The entertainment was good. The comedian was very funny. We only went to the first and second night shows as the rest of the time we were too busy partying with new friends. The staff in general are very funny and are always making jokes. The DJ's in both Legends and Starlight were good and provided a good mix of music and actually played requests!

Activities
Being just the 4 night cruise there were no ports, so all activities were on board. The Casino and planned activities through the day provided much of the entertainment as did a little sleep to recover for the night ahead. The nightlife on board is amazing and we managed to party well into the morning.

Who Goes
A huge mix of people from all walks of life. Couples, singles, families you name it. All ages, nationalities and backgrounds. The people on our dinner table were excellent and proved to be a highlight to the entire cruise. We met plenty of people and had a great time with everyone we met. By the end of the cruise you will have met many new friends. The cruise is what you make it, whether your going to party and meet new people or chill out with your partner, everything you need is on board. Everyone has the same friendly nature and wants to have fun. Overall a very safe experience and I would recommend it to everyone.
