Date of Trip: September 1, 2000
Itinerary: Spain/France/Portugale

Overview
This was our first cruise, we had a fantastic time, the Oriana is a beautiful ship. We enjoyed it so much we have booked to go again in April this year. The itinerary was not the one I really wanted but for our first cruise we did not mind. One thing I would like to say is that if you are taking children book early enough as we found it difficult to get a three berth cabin.

Public Areas
The public areas were comfortable, they were never crowded, although the ship was sailing on full capacity. There were three pools, the Casino we did go in a few times, although it was not as big as I thought it would be.

Food and Service
We dinned in the Oriental restaurant in the evenings the food I must say was excellent. A good wine list was available. Deck twelve offered buffet food which was good and there was a very good choice for breakfast and lunch, also the was a hot and cold buffet for children at about 5pm plenty of choice again. But the main restaurant I give 10out of 10. Vegetables were never over cooked, meat cooked just right and well presented what more can I say.

Cabins
We had a stateroom which was idea as we took out daughter, there was a sofa bed for a third person, plenty of wardrobe space, tea/coffee etc in cabin. The bathroom had a bath/shower designed really well. Plenty of space to put toiletries etc. We liked the added touch of bathrobes and slippers and of course 24 hour room service.

Entertainment
We went to three shows in our week aboard, they were very professional, also saw a comedian one evening who was very good. The entertainment for children was great, every thing from magic shows to fancy dress. The quality of the cruise staff and the entertainers I would rate very high.

Activities
We stopped at Vigo, Lisbon, Lorrient, Guernsy we made our own way round each port we went to. We enjoyed Lisbon very much. There is so much to do on board day and evening, from talks, dance lessons, sports activities, also learn to play poker. So much I cannot mention all. The children's club was open from about 9am to 10.30pm sometimes 11pm most days.

Who Goes
Every-one was really friendly not the snobbery you might expect, people were talking about other cruises they have been on, also there were people who only travel with P&O.
