Itinerary: South Pacific

Overview
I thoroughly enjoyed cruising on the P&O. The fares were cheap, the accommodation was great and the food was excellent. The service was marvellous there was always somebody around if you needed something.Entertainment was very good and the Mistral Lounge (nightclub) provided hours of fun. I would definitely recommend cruising with P&O.

Public Areas
All the lounges on P&O were great. The best being the Mistral Lounge where you could dance till 3am. The Mistral catered mainly for the young people whilst the other lounges were great for the more mature. There is a walk around promenade and the 3 pools are a good size (although the salt water stings a bit). The casino was always busy with a lot of people winning.

Food and Service
The food was excellent, absolutely yummy. THere was a good range of food, lots to pick from. There was a buffet on deck but I opted to go to the dinning room. The service was outstanding, there was always a waiter to refill your glass or get you what ever you desired. They were very friendly and easy to talk to.

Cabins
The cabin was great. We were on Dolphin deck outside cabin. I would recommend an outside cabin as they are bigger and have a porthole. The closet was huge and the bathroom was nice. THe shower was roomy and the noise levels were good.

Entertainment
Yes, I attended all the shows and was very impressed with the quality of the performers.

Activities
There is heaps to do on board. From water volleyball, deck twister, movies, mini olympics, table tennis, swimming I did it all. To get the most of your cruise join in all the activities. The best are the theme nights such as; island night, pajama night, formal night and genda benda. These nights provided hours of entertainment. The was child care services and our ports of call were Vanuatu and New Caledonia.

Who Goes
There was a wide range of passengers on our cruise. However as it was at the end of a school year the majority was school leavers out to celebrate. I would say 55% were 18-24 year olds, the rest older. Everybody was friendly and knew everybody by the end of the cruise. I would like to see some of the passengers again and I actually do keep in contact with a lot of the people I met.
