Itinerary: Mexico-Western

Overview
Itinerary was very good, but ship a huge disappointment.

Public Areas
Some public areas were o.k. Piano Bar was very dark and dismal. Some of the seats were impossible to sit on unless you were 6ft tall. Crows Nest was ok but a bit large and often almost empty. Rising Sun was quite good. Theatre was depressing colour (battleship grey). Most of the colours in the bars were dark and gloomy. Aquarius Pool could only be reached through Belvedere Food Court. Neptune Pool a bit claustrophobic with uncomfortable loungers. Did not use casino.

Food and Service
Food service was very good until an outbreak on Noro Virus, when waiters had to work longer hours to serve fool in buffets, when some of them became tetchy. The vegetables in the Meridian Restaurant where disgusting, the rest was fair. Mexican buffet was completely tasteless. Food in Belvedere Food Court was quite good.

Cabins
Cabin was not too bad. Lots of closet space. Bathroom fair, with small bath and shower in bath. It was noisy during the day from launderette almost facing cabin and people using it were rather loud at times.

Entertainment
Ships theatre company were excellent. But comedians very second rate. Three live bands where very good.

Activities
Itinarary was good. Stopped in Acapulco, Huatulco, Panama, Limon, Costa Rica, Aruba, Grenada, Trinidad and Barbados. We also transversed the Panama Canal. Should have stopped in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, but the weather was too windy to launch the tenders to go ashore. Which was very disappointing. We did not attend any activities as the itinery was very busy and spent days on ship sunbathing. Did attend a wine tasting which was very interesting. Did not use the Spar. And the ship was child free.

Who Goes
Quite a mixed bunch. Some very ordinary and some very well to do. Unfortunately our two of our dinner table companions were very snobby and made us feel very inferior. Did meet a lot of very nice people though.
