Norwegian Cruise Line

SS Norway

Your Rating:Four Stars

Date of Trip: March 27, 1999
Itinerary: Caribbean - Eastern

Overview
We originally chose this ship because of her age and history, when we first got on board, the ship did not seem to meet our expectations, but as the week wore on, we grew to love her. Take note, the elevators, leave much to be desired. The S.S. in S. S. Norway stands for stair stepper!!!

Public Areas
The public rooms on the whole are nice. The sports lounge is brand new. The holey linens used at High Tea in the International lounge were less than impressive. The pools close too early 6pm The casino is very comfortable, staff very friendly, and mini buffets were a nice added touch.

Food and Service
Having read several reviews, that stated that the food was much to be desired, we were all pleasantly surprised to find it superior. The Bistro may offer some of the best meals afloat, and well worth the 5$ tipping per person. Our waiter and busboy were exceptionally attentive and friendly.

Cabins
Superior Deluxe Suite on Sky Deck was wonderful. Ample closet space, large bed, floor to ceiling and wall to wall windows were wonderful. Category C on Fjord deck, was well worth the money paid, but the obstructive view, was no view at all. Plenty of closet space and ample bathroom facilities.

Entertainment
The entertainers left a lot to be desired. The Broadway production of Crazy For You, found us all walking out. The lounge acts were great. The quality of the cruise staff, was exceptional, friendly, helpful, and informative.

Activities
Cruise News provides activities from 7am -wee hours of the morning, activities for every age group and life style. Ports, St Maartan, St John , St Thomas, Private island of the Norwegian Cruise Line. St. Thomas was the highlight of our trip.

Who Goes
Being March break, there was a vast variety of age groups. Which was very enjoyable..as it brought life to every event. As Canadians, we tend to be a little more reserved, so we really enjoyed ourselves, and let our reserve down, and hung loose like everyone else on board.
