Itinerary: Caribbean - Eastern

Overview
Just returned from a week on the SS Norway, and had a wonderful time. My wife and I brought our 5 children, 17 yr old daughter, 14 yr old son, 7yr old son, 5yr old son, and 4yr old daughter.

What a wonderful week, several days at sea to start, the Dutch Side of St Maarten with a nice beach off the tender (I went sailing on the 12 meters from the 86 Americas Cup Race), St Thomas where we took the tender to St John (Don't Miss it, it was the highlight of the voyage), another day at sea, and the private island.

The ship was lovely, in better condition than in the past, and the food was wonderful. Make sure you get into the Windward Dining Room, and ask for Charles the waiter, he has worked on the ship for 20 yrs.

Public Areas
The public rooms except for the sports bar were wonderful. However, the sports bar felt a little dated. The international lounge made me feel like a lovely club in New York City.

Food and Service
The Windward Dining room was wonderful, if you can ask for Charles, he was our waiter, from Haiti, and spoke English and French. He always suggested the best dishes on the menu, and although we have been on several cruises, he gave us our best service.

The food was excellent, head and shoulders above other NCL ships, and significantly above other lines, Carnival, Holland America, Meridian.

Cabins
We had a nice cabin on the Norway deck... With a double bed, and a bunk bed as well.

Entertainment
The comedian, David Naster, was the finest cruise comic I have ever seen. The rest of the entertainment was fine.

Activities
St Maarten sailing should not be missed. Our kids loved the Kids Club, make sure you see the vintage mural in the Troll Land (Supposedly it is from a noted artist, and worth over $1 million).

Who Goes
Passengers were across the spectrum.. however the nice walk around deck on International Deck, was lovely.. The passengers were very nice, and we had great weather.
