MS Norwegian Sea

Itinerary: Mexico-Eastern

Overview
I hear a lot of negativity about the Sea. Our cruise was ok for the fare we paid. I think people should consider the price they pay and service they expect. The ports were ok. Like other itineraries better. Yes, this ship has see its days and scheduled to be replaced sometime 05. I think NCL is trying to upgrade its service on their ships. We will see. Happy with what I got for what I paid.

Public Areas
Again, old and worn. Public areas were somewhat kept up. I notice carpet being replaced throughout out the cruise. Staff was helpful and always willing to meet my needs. Had no problem with the casino although small made about $500 on my playing during the cruise.

Food and Service
Overall food was ok but not anything to talk about. Had good service in the dinning room. Wait staff was good. Buffet was kind of plane, nothing great but quantity was there. Always coffee and tea, juice available around the clock. Deck bar-b-que was ok for burgers and dogs. Outside wait staff continued endlessly to sell drinks and pull tabs, got tired of that. Overall was ok. Again, if I want better I will move up to higher class cruise lines

Cabins
Small and worn out. Everything worked ok. Mattress was completely worn out. They did replace it when I requested it. Cabin stewart did not seem very enthusiastic but did his job. I booked an inside cabin and was upgraded to an outside.

Entertainment
One thing I did like was the Filipino band that played each night. The stage plays and entertainer were so so. The disco was a little out of my league. Old man. Other shows were ok not great. Cruise staff overall was ok.

Activities
Ports were ok. Just did the shopping thing. Yes, I think the excursions were a bit steep.

Who Goes
Booked this cruise at the last minute. My wife and I just wanted a quick get away and the cruise gave us a few days to relax and do nothing. Stayed much to ourselves but people we did meet were very friendly and enjoyable.
