Overview
For our first time on a cruise this ship was perfect. The food was wonderful, the service and waiters were superb. Cabins were small but not much time spent in them as there was so much to do. Met lots of friendly people and changed tables every lunch time but evenings dined with the same people all week. This was an excellent idea because people always wanted to discuss past cruises or future cruises. Did not meet anyone who was disappointed in the cruise although some nights it was a bit rough as we were in the lowest cabins.

Public Areas
The Discovery lounge was very popular. The small deck above the Kontiki bar was our favourite as not many people knew it was there. The pool was too small and as there were no beaches included in the trip this was a bit disappointing. Plenty of space for sunbathing however.

Food and Service
My favourite waiter was Mahmoud, he made the holiday as nothing was too much trouble. My friend who is a fussy eater managed to get something she liked at every meal time and thats saying something!!

Cabins
The cabins were quiet (if you discounted the air conditioning fan which we needed on the whole time). Our cabins were way down in the ship and we didn't discover the lift until the end of the week. Never mind we didn't spend a lot of time in the cabins. The showers were adequate but we did think our toiletries had been stolen but were actually put away in the glass fronted cabinet. It would have been nice to know the cabinet was there, perhaps a small notice on it.

Entertainment
The cruise staff and entertainers were first rate. I have just been to London to see My Fair Lady and the entertainers on the ship did a "Wouldn't it be Loverly" night and they were as good as the London Show, in fact I think they worked harder.

Activities
The only trip we did was Rome, all the others we did on our own. Thought it was a waste of time at SETE, surely there are better places ie Cannes, Marseille, Monte Carlo?? and as it was a Sunday there was nothing doing. Baby sitting was not an issue in fact there was only one child on board who was a few months old.

Who Goes
We were very lucky in our dinner companions and would certainly like to meet them again for dinner. Other passengers were all very friendly and a cross section of occupations and walks of life.
