Itinerary: Mediterranean

Overview
Super choice for first time cruisers; smallish ship (300 passengers) good sunbathing areas, absolutely first class service, varied food (choice of service or help-yourself). entertainment far surpassed any pre-conceived ideas, apart from one night it was worthy of a West End Stage every night. The Orangery offered a quiet area for reading/board games etc, but there were many other things on offer, from films, a casino, quizzes, dancing, to Port Showcases for the following place to be visited. Cabins were comfortable but not luxurious, excellent showers and very clean.

We would certainly visit this happy ship again; the atmosphere was unique. Downsides were pool was refilled daily with freezing cold sea water !, and fixed places in the dining room, we had a noisy chap with a wife who delighted in entertaining the table with her long list of ailments, it could have spoiled the cruise....

Public Areas
Walk around promenade, pool too cold for many people to ever venture in !

Food and Service
Service could not be faulted at all, smiling staff who appeared to genuinely want you to enjoy your time on their ship.

Cabins
Quiet top deck cabin, enough storage but a t.v. would have been nice for occasional news updates. Good decoration, spotlessly clean, frequent linen changes.

Entertainment
I can't rate this section highly enough, we even watched twice one evening, they were so good.

Activities
Didn't appear to be baby sitting, only three kids on board who were well behaved, suitable for babies though as could be taken anywhere on the ship. Stopped at Malta (only half a day) Naples (amazing city) Sardinia (wonderful beaches) Sicily (our favourite), Menorca (over Anglisised) and Majorca. Good excursions for those that wanted them. (we did our own thing by horse drawn cab or taxi/train)

Who Goes
A very mixed bunch; Mainly middle-aged but a good sprinkling of twenties and over sixties too. I would change the fixed tables if possible, as it didn't suit a lot of people, being stuck with a really boring couple every evening was only saved by the nightly entertainment by the waiters, who did everything from sing to make paper flowers and posies for us.
