Overview
This was our first cruise and won't be our last. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to return to the Island Escape. I had reservations after reading horrendous reviews after booking. However, early problems have been ironed out. We have NO complaints whatsoever. We had a memorable holiday to celebrate my fiances 50th birthday.

Public Areas
ll the public areas were of a high standard, both in decoration and cleanliness. Staff are constantly cleaning and painting. We soon found our way around the ship as everything ie well signposted. We particularly liked the Lookout where we could dance until the early hours. Would be a good idea if the disco started earlier though. Midnight is a bit too late for a lot of people. Become expert at the Cha Cha Slide!!!

Food and Service
There are three dining areas : The Beachcomber is open 24/7 serving hot and cold foods, tea and coffee. The Island Restaurant was self service though waiter service was available if preferred. The food was outstanding. As a vegetarian I was spoilt for choice. The service was superb. The waiters are polte and efficient. Special mention here to Magdy, Dima and Head Waiter Costa. They looked after us admirably. We never got the chance to dine in the Oasis Restaurant but were told by others that it was of a very high standard.

Cabins
The cabin was big enough for it's purpose. We had the two single beds made up into a double. This was done within 15 minutes of asking. Excellent service. There was plenty of hanging and drawer space. The bathroom area was clean with a plentiful supply of hot water and towels etc. We were well looked after by our Stewardess Adelina! Top Marks!!

Entertainment
We watched most shows in the Ocean Theatre. They were of a very high standard. We particularly enjoyed Parisian nights. The can can was breathtaking. Costumes at all shows were stunning. We saw a comedian called Carl Scholfield who was very funny. However, his second performance on the Sunday was ruined by idiotic women dancing around and heckling him whilst he was performing. Morons! The Bounty Lounge hosted some fabulous entertainment but please, no more Karaoke!

Activities
We visited Ajaccio, Santa Margherita, Portofino, Rome, Nice, Monaco and Monte Carlo. Unfortunately, we were unable to dock in Mahon due to adverse weather conditions. This was disappointing but out of the crews control. Captain John McNeil kept us well informed at all times. There was plenty to do whilst at sea. The shops are worth a visit as is the Casino.

Who Goes
We met some lovely people on this cruise. Rob and Chris, Di and John, Catherine Michael and family, Jean and Rosemary, Nesh and Ash, Joy and Colum, Andy and his wife from Scotland. (loved the kilt!). We would love any of these to come to dinner so that we could reminisce. Can't say the food would be as good as on the Escape though!! If anyone reads this who was on the cruise, please e-mail me. I'd love to her from you.
