Date of Trip: September 30, 2002
Itinerary: Mediterranean

Overview
After the teething troubles the ship experienced they have faced the problems and now provide excellent value for money. The crew are friendly and helpful and the entertainment and cuisine is very good.Yes!I have been on better but paid a lot more money. I will be using this ship again.Well done First Choice and Royal Caribbean.

Public Areas
Public areas are clean and well maintained and serviced, although waiter services in the ocean lounge theatre could be better. The bar area is very friendly, and the casino well maintained and used. Pool is a little small but clean and well kept. Sun beds in this area are in short supply.

Food and Service
Island restaurant was very good and efficiently run with very little waiting to be seated. Oasis restaurant was nice but a little overrated as the food was no better than elsewhere at the food outlets. Beachcomber self service restaurant was very good, the food was varied and always hot with staff in attendance given it was 24hrs

Cabins
The cabins had ample storage space and closet space. Shower and bathroom could have done with a face lift but shower was spacious and the water was always hot. not too noisy.

Entertainment
Entertainment during the day was quite varied and accessible but more announcements would have been useful to remind people of the venue etc . Shows were very good and the entertainers very versatile, also friendly off stage.

Activities
"Mediterranean Spirit" was the itinerary and lived up to it`s name, however a little more time in each port would have been nice as there was too little time to explore and trips via the ship were a necessity to see the sights and some passengers were not prepared for this and would have preferred to do their own thing

Who Goes
Fellow passengers were very much a mixed bag. Some were first time cruises and enjoyed the lack of formality and others would have liked a formal evening. (some were the eternal moaners) and I`m happy to say we avoided them...and no! no dinner invites were issued
