SS Amerikanis

Itinerary: Bahamas

Overview
I thought the ship was beautiful, it's a pity I didn't take interior photos like I do now, because the cruise lines don't show the interiors of their ships in the brochures like they ought to. I enjoyed my cruise on the Amerikanis thoroughly.

Public Areas
I liked the public areas on the ship, it was the cruise on which I finally learned how to swim, the pool area was just marvelous. And I think the liner can still be used again. I want to sail on it again.

Food and Service
The service was impeccable. Food was out of this world. The staff, very attentive to passengers requests. I liked every room opened to the public.

Cabins
We had a beautiful stateroom, mid ships about one or two decks above the dining room. It was very spacious and decorated very Art Deco. Very lovely.

Entertainment
The entertainment impeccable. Cruise staff answered all my questions. Entertainers very upbeat and fun to watch.

Activities
We left Miami on Friday and came back on Monday morning. We were at Nassau, the Bahamas. The pool was nice size, it could hold about maybe 15 people. I don't recall there being a babysitting service. Nassau still had the straw market close by then so shopping was easy. Also I Wish I had bought some mementos from the ship, like the shot glass And so forth.

Who Goes
I think our passengers were pretty good on this trip. The only thing I didn't like was watching a female passenger who was invited to the captain's table (Ioannis Miskis was his name), she wore blue jeans, I found that very unbecoming. I didn't get to know enough of any of the passengers well enough to think about asking them over for dinner, Basically because they were travel agents. And asking an agent to come dinner is like asking for advertisement and not a friend to visit.
