MS Disney Wonder

Itinerary: Bahamas

This cruise was part of a 7 day Land/Sea package. We spent 3 days in Disney World at the French Quarter Hotel (Which BTW was pretty good), and then went on a 4 day cruise on the Disney Wonder. The cruise was very good, service good, and the food was maybe a bit better than Carnival. Debarkation and boarding were both very easy. No complaints.

The public rooms seemed to number a bit lower than other ships of the same size. They were comfortable, and looked fine, but not beautiful. The family Dance Club, I believe was called Studio Sea, was nicer than most, and very comfortable. However, my favourite room was Parrot Cay or Triton's, pretty nice.

The service was wonderful, prompt. There was nothing to complain about in this area. The food was as I said a bit better than Carnival's, but the menu wasn't nearly as varied. You were seated at each Main Dining room at least once. The dining room you had first on a four day cruise would be the only place you ate diner twice. Breakfast and lunch were both open seating.

For the first time, we had a outside stateroom with a balcony. It was on deck 6, forward. All Disney Cruise Line staterooms are bigger than most cruise lines, including Carnival. Since we had an ocean view stateroom with balcony, it was bigger still. The cabin was divided in two by a curtain. Bathroom was a nice size, seemed big enough for a larger person. It was pretty quiet, the insulation a bit thicker than that on the Carnival Triumph. Once again, no complaints.

I can honestly say I didn't attend any of the shows. I would spend most of my time in the Oceaneer Lab during the night, and sometimes during the day. That was very good for children. Everyone else in the cabin said the shows were good, but I skipped them.
There was plenty to do onboard, the activities were just as varied or more varied than Carnival, although more tasteful for families. There was always something going on. The itinerary was okay, Castaway Cay was very nice, we ate at the barbecue onshore, and rented a peddle boat. There was plenty to do on the private island, so much that it isn't really worth it for older children 9+ or so to stay with the program, as they can do plenty with their families. Nassau was okay, nothing spectacular, but was decent and Paradise Island was pretty nice.
There was a wide range of passengers. There were adults, adults with their children, Senior Citizens, and Senior Citizens with their children and grandchildren. Most passengers were English speaking Americans, but there were a few Canadians on board as well.
