Itinerary: Wetdock

Overview
The Queen Mary was a true delight over flying. She was rich with public rooms, lounges, restaurants, great food, and a staff of the friendliest people in the world.

Public Areas
There were three promenades. One was enclosed. There was a shopping arcade with an Austin Reed Habedashery. She had an attractive bar called the Midships Bar. She had some of te most amazing lounges I had ever seen. Her dining room was unbelievable. It had a moving mural showing where the ship was in the Atlantic. There was an enormous swimming pool indoors. It included turkish baths, an attendant, and a mezzanine. There was no casino but there was a fantastic library. Another room I loved was the Flamenco Room. I was decorated just like a spanish town would. It was unbelievable.

Food and Service
There were two dining rooms for First Class. The Verandah Grill, and the Main Dining Room. The Verandah Grill was an a la carte restaurant with a slight additional fee. The food was impeccable, especially the Beef Wellington.

Cabins
There were three types of cabins in First Class. One room, Two room Special Rooms, and Two and Three room Suites. The suite I stayed in was very art deco'ie. It had two double beds, a sitting room, a dining room, and a bathroom with bating options of Cold, Cold Salt, Warm, Warm Salt waters. Since my room was three rooms, I had several small closets. In regular rooms, they had two mall closets.

Entertainment
The only entertainment was a very, very talented lounge singer.

Activities
On board I ran and worked out, went swimming, used the very interesting equipment in the gymnasium, shopped, played cards, strolled the promenade, and has tea at 4:00EST. That was about it. Sometimes there were lectures and functions on board.

Who Goes
Everyone we came into contact with was First Class all of the way. Beautiful and knowledgeable people, from all over the world. We really enjoyed it. Friendly and gracious.
