Date of Trip: August 5, 2005
Itinerary: Scandinavia

Overview
Booked the cruise to the Scotland, Iceland and Norway. Weather as to be expected in this area not very good, around 12 - 15 C little sun. Sea state was very kind and QE 2 behaved very well in the swell

Public Areas
With a boat with so many classes, the Public rooms tend to get very busy we travelled in the Grill class so was able to escape to the grill lounge which was peaceful

Food and Service
QE 2 excels in the Grill rooms. We use the Britannia Room and cannot be faulted. If i could not afford the Grill class I would not go.

Cabins
Grill class again Deck 2. Bath / shower. The bathroom in our cabin was in need of a re vamp. Looking tired and old fashioned.

Entertainment
If you like pub games, bingo, making bead necklaces this is for you. Entertainment appeared to be used by a lot of people. Compare was very good and popular.

Activities
Stopped Port near to Inverness, then Iceland ( 2 ports ) then several fiords in Norway and then Bergen. Spa on board in need of serious TLC( tender loving care ) Pool small and on deck 7. Outdoor pool small and not used on a Northern Latitude trip. Excursions. Expensive, large coaches, guide who sits at the front, points out sites of interest, but at the back cannot see anything - need 6 TV monitors with videos of route.

Who Goes
The majority of the pax are attracted by the special deal, and we sat with some Americans on our table for four. I asked them of they would go again on the QE2 and they said NO. I said why - old boat, need scrapping and the other pax were unfriendly. Out of the 2000 pax I would only want to get further involved with a small number. Most are on a cheap all inc holiday - pretty basis lot.
