Overview
Overall it was a wonderful trip the scenery is unsurpassed. If you never go on any other cruise, go on this one. the ship, which is brand new, was absolutely gorgeous. Being very large,of course, there were a lot of people on board, but since we don't mind crowds we did very well.

Public Areas
The public areas were very nice. chairs and sofas well upholstered, very well laid out, and convenient. We thought the three level showroom was the best, with the main dining room a very close second. the walk-around promenade was great, and beautiful. The pool was great and even though we didn't use it(we are both 67) we heard nothing but praise about it. The casino was big and made you feel like you were in the ones on the gulf coast.

Food and Service
The food was great! we were definitely not disappointed in that department. We ate mostly in the main dining room, and the rest of the time on the lido deck at the buffet. We did not try the restaurant at the top of the atrium, but those who did said it was outstanding. our waiter ben was born to be a waiter. He could not have done a better job. his assistant was so nice and efficient we almost couldn't stand it. I cannot imagine anyone being able to find fault with either of them.

Cabins
My wife, my sister, and I shared a balcony room. We had no problems with having enough room. With 3 large closets and plenty of drawer space, we did fine. The shower was more than big enough and I am 5 feet 10 inches and weigh 210 lbs. The room was very quiet and we had no trouble sleeping.

Entertainment
we attended 3 shows and they were top notch. All the entertainers were very talented and we left the shows feeling that we had seen a lot of great work and effort. The spirit orchestra was excellent. Some of the things that they do with that stage were terrific. There has to be some very fancy mechanical equipment under there to make it do all the tricks it does. The cruise staff was very good, but I found the cruise director to be a little "put on" and not very natural.

Activities
We stopped at Valdez, Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan. We did not get off the ship at Valdez. Went on a helicopter ride in Juneau, saw some beautiful scenery, and landed on a glacier; which was one of the really high points of our trip. We took the white summit pass train ride in skagway, and that was awe inspiring. We went to the logging show, and that was amazing. While we were in Juneau, we also took a combination bus and boat ride to see a glacier and whales. That was really great. We saw plenty-plenty whales, also sea lions and seals. We saw bald eagles almost everywhere. In Ketchican we went to the native village where the greatest collection of totem poles in the world is displayed. again, everything we saw was gorgeous and not to be missed.

Who Goes
Our group was composed of my wife, her sister and brother-in law, my wife's brother and his wife, my sister, and I. We had a table for 7 in the dining room and only met a few other people who were very very nice. Having them over for dinner is a moot point as they came from places too far from us to do that.
