Itinerary: Caribbean - Western

Overview
A great cruise, but this cruise had the unfortunate timing of following a GREAT cruise we had on the Noordam. So even though Carnival does a great job at what they do you do get spoiled on HAL.

Public Areas
All Public Areas were very comfortable as far as seating but except for the few intimate areas it's NOISY.

Food and Service
This ship was top of the line as far as food and service was concerned. Our waiters, Ronaldo and Louis gave us HAL quality service and were super friendly. Lido deck food and service was also top shelf.

Cabins
We had a Riveria deck outside cabin. Very nice shower was roomy, almost 2 people could fit. Cabin steward was the weak point. Never meet him and no towel animal on the last night.

Entertainment
Entertainment was Carnival.. Very flashy and quite good this time. Comedian had me crying, he was a riot. The Ship's Dancers put on a GREAT show.

Activities
Grand Cayaman: We rented a car and toured the island, and spent most of our time at 7 mile beach. One of our favorites. For some reason this ship leaves VERY early that was our only complaint.

Cozumel: Our (faster than a speeding bullet) taxi driver took us to a really great beach that we never went to. Nachi Como beach resort, or something like that,. It was a very nice beach that had a big pool and whirlpool right next to the beach. It was very refreshing to go into the pool after a dip in the Ocean. I like the swim up bar too. Was nice to have a Corona while relaxing on the beach. One thing we were NOT prepared for was the hoard of ships in Cozumel. There were 9 ships there, and we were the unlucky ones that could not dock. So we had to tender back and forth, a big hassle. So be forewarned that it seems they schedule more ships than there is room for docking. We NEVER encountered that before. Even though they say you will dock there....well maybe not.

Who Goes
Quite a few kids, all pretty well behaved, only a few were annoying on occasion, a few old folks(we'll be there shortly), lots of middle aged people( a few quite drunk and annoying), maybe the next thing should be a liquor free cruise, I won't hold my breath LOL. This time I wouldn't invite too many over for dinner.
