Overview
Worth the money, would go again , but in a different month. Weather was against us threw out the trip. Ship was clean, we saw many crew members dedicated to the task of cleaning this huge ship, a full time job with 3000 guest on board! Everyone polite and helpful. Even with the bad weather we had a good time. Security made themselves seen. They did not intrude on anyone's good time but they wanted you to know they were watching. I found that a plus due to the recent events on RC.

Public Areas
Casino was large and well attended. Smoking restricted to certain areas, a plus for us as we do not smoke. Game rooms for cards or chess, many lounges and bars so none seemed overcrowded. Promenade deck ran full length of ship. Lido had 3 pools with 4 hot tubes. Hot tubes were crowded and hard to get into until evening. Back pool smaller and less crowded during day. Bad weather made them have to drain the middle pool twice. It had turned into a wave pool!

Food and Service
Food was plentiful and a good variety. I did find one grill not enough on this size ship , but the staff really knew how to manage and the line went fast, the cheeseburger was wonderful. We dined in the Silver Olympian Room and our staff were excellent! My husbands tea never went dry. I did find that the format of tables for 2,4,6 or 8 was not to my liking. Our table of 4 was like a booth at a restaurant and I prefer to eat at a table. The servers had to reach in front of the outside person to serve or refill the inside persons food or drink. Food was generally good with the exception of my lobster, which I found tough and tasteless. Fish and Chips bar was a plus. I did find it annoying you had to pay for specialty coffee, smoothies or pastries. I feel that should have been included .

I was VERY disappointed in the Grand Midnight buffet. Only 2 ice carvings, not much food at all and it was not presented well. I have to say that the Fantasy had a much nicer and LARGER display when I went 3 years ago.

Cabins
We choose an inside cabin, we were placed on Veranda deck 8, forward. This was a rough trip with high seas at times and we did bounce around a few times but for the most part it was ok. The cabin was small and more than 2 people would have been to much. The bath area was large enough for 2 at the mirror, and I loved the floating shower head and endless hot water. Closet space was good. For the most part it was a quite trip except for one night and the teenagers across the hall got into a fight in the hall at 12:30pm. We, however did not need to get up as the other room did and took care of the fuss. Our stewart was GREAT! He and his staff worked their tails off this cruise, lots of sea sick passengers. And he was ill himself with a cold. Our room was spotless, I did call for a housekeeper one time to vacuum up sand we had gotten on the floor and someone was there in minutes to clean it up. Next time we will spend the extra money for a balcony room as they were much larger.

Entertainment
We only went to one show as we had the late dinner seating. The dancers were very good and the lead singers voices complimented each other. It was enjoyable. There was live entertainment throughout the ship, all worth the time to stop and listen too. We only saw our cruise director on stage , however, we heard him over the PA quite a bit. Becka of his staff was the more visible one, she mixed more with the guest. Michael the shopping expert was on his last cruise and it showed. Don't get me wrong, he gave good tips but he came off snobbish to us. We did see the captain quite a bit and he was very friendly. Lots of what my husband called White shirts walking around , but they were standoffish.

Activities
We were on the 6 day western cruise, due to stop at Freeport, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Itinerary changed from Cozumel to Costa Maya due to dock damage. Freeport was cool but sun was out. Went on the snorkle excursion. Worth the money. Water a bit cool, but you got used to it. This was our best day. Tuesday at sea, cool, high winds rough seas. Wednesday Grand Cayman, had a 7:45 excursion to Stingray City and Island Tour. Glad we did , while we were waiting to disembark the cruise director came over the PA announcing all tours after 7:45 had been cancelled due to incoming bad weather. We had to be out of GC by 3:00. We were due to stay until 5. Lots of unhappy people. Our tour returned at 1:30 and the last tender was a 2. Stingray City worth the trip. It was to be the highlight of it. Costa Maya next stop, sort of. We docked at 6:00 A.M got off the ship at 10:30 and they recalled us at 11:00. We left at 1:30. Bad weather, high seas and wind. Costa Maya is just a little shopping mall , if you did not schedule a tour you saw what there was to see in 45 min. Would not go back there again. So that left activities on the ship. They need more! If you did not gamble, sunbath hard to find an empty chair, play cards or could afford the spa, which you had to sign up for classes to use the equipment $10.00 each class. Oh they said you could use it for free, if they did not have a full class. Bingo, a few contest and a talent show were it. Not enough to fill the day confined to a ship. Child care was not an issue for us.

Who Goes
All ages, groups, we had too singles groups. And no I would not invite them to my house.
