Overview
The more things change, the worse they get. With all of the improvements they supposedly made (food, cabins, etc), I was geared up for my cruise. Actually, not all the upgrades were bad. Prior to this cruise, I was a "die-hard" Carnival fan. I can no longer say that.

Public Areas
I had cruised before on the Destiny's sister ship 7 years ago. Public areas are nice, clean, and the seating is very comfortable. I personally think the casino can be a little more modernized. It definitely looks very late 80's/ early 90's to me.

Food and Service
I believe this is what changed my mind about Carnival the most. The food in the dining room was not good! I preferred eating at the grille (hamburgers and fries). I ordered steak one night. When I received the steak it was roughly 70% fat. I advised our waiter and said "the steak is very fatty". He looked at me and repeated my statement back to me without offering me something different. In terms of cabin steward, he was very nice when we met him on day 1. However, that was pretty much the last time we saw him. Also, out of the 4 days on the ship, we had only received new towels on 3 of them.

Cabins
Cabins have always been a strong point with Carnival. The use of space is done very well. I was very happy with the size of the closets as well as the size of the bathroom. The temperature of the room is a whole different story. Our room (Verandah Deck #8) was always warm even though the A/C was at its highest setting.

Entertainment
Carnival has always had good entertainment. This time was no exception. From the shows to the comedians and to the games, a lot of fun.

Activities
This cruise went to Key West and Cozumel. Honestly, I was not the boat for Key West since I live in South Florida. However, I had never been to Cozumel. The water there is beautiful. There is the same battery of shops. Frankly, I enjoyed the Eastern Caribbean a lot more.

Who Goes
There was a mixed bag of passengers. Not so many kids on this cruise as on my previous Carnival cruises. That was a surprise.
