Itinerary: Caribbean - Western

Overview
The Carnival Conquest is one of the biggest ships in the current Carnival Line.

Public Areas
In cruising this ship summer/2004, it is astonishing to see the vibrant colors, art and decor of the ship. Was impressed on the ships comfort in state rooms (we had a balcony cabin for the first time and highly recommend the extra on this ship) and activities aboard.

Food and Service
The food was fine, just what we expected.

Cabins
Have traveled on NCL, RCL, and Carnival. Have to say that the Conquest's cabins were larger than I have experienced on other ships. The option of having the balcony on this cruise was very nice. The bathroom was a good size with nice size shower, nice wood work on storage and comfortable.

Entertainment
The main disappointment on the Carnival Lines is the entertainment of the shows. Once you have seen one Vegas show, you have seen them all. We went to the show the 1st night and stayed through it and then the 2nd night, we walked out and did not go back to the shows. If you have young children, the entertainers are wearing very little but glitter.

Activities
Have done the W. Caribbean several times and Cayman and Cozumel are always fun. On the Conquest, the Jamaican stop in Montego Bay I could do without. We did the climb up the waterfalls and did not expect 500 other people to be climbing at the same time! Would have been just as happy to have spent the money for a manicure and stayed on the ship. In Cozumel, shopping and Mexican authentic Mexican margaritas are always good. In Cayman, the swim with the sting rays is a must. We booked a private tour not associated with the ship and only about a dozen people on the boat.

Who Goes
There are people from Europe, all over the U.S. and Canada that we met on the Conquest. We found most everyone very nice, sociable and fun. We did have a problem with a man wearing a male penis apron at the pool having way too much fun one day.
