Itinerary: Caribbean - Western

Overview
This was my first cruise. As a travel agent I wasn't expecting much from Carnival but boy was I extremely wrong!!! They have earned the title of the Fun Ships. I was so in love with Carnival that I've been home for one week and am scheduling my next sailing.

Public Areas
Carnival is the epitome of Vegas on water...neon and glitz all the way. The hallways and elevators are a bit cramped but as far as the rest of the ship it seems to have plenty of room.

Food and Service
The service was impeccable from our wait staff to our cabin steward. The food was a bit rushed but tasty and more than satisfying. You will definitely find something to your tastes.

Cabins
The cabin was larger than I expected but I was rather unhappy with the bathroom. The shower is the about the size of a telephone booth and there wasn't an outlet for blow dryers etc.

Entertainment
The entertainment was not broadway by any means but I was laughing continuously. I preferred the lounge singers to the actual shows because it was interactive. All the staff members I encountered went above and beyond to be helpful and they always had a smile

Activities
In the evenings you really have to look over the itinerary to decide what you want to do since there are so many choices. There are activities during the day but they are much more low-key since everyone is sunning by the pool but they do have a calypso band which I thought was a great touch.

Who Goes
I was expecting a young college drinking crowd. It turned out that there were people from all age groups and social backgrounds. The people that I had time to talk to were all very nice and friendly and luckily I didn't encounter any obnoxious people.
