Overview
This was our first cruise and it was a memorable one! Our voyage to the North Cape called at 10 places in 14 days so there were very few days completely at sea.

Food is brilliant as is the entertainment and the help from the ship's compliment when necessary.

Public Areas
Lounges were efficiently served but got crowded before and after mealtimes. Bars had a good range of beers, shorts and cocktails and the waiters were extremely competent.

Food and Service
Dining areas were packed but you weren't crowded by other diners. Tables sat 8 at a time and the service was top class both for food and wine/drinks. Deck food areas were basic but if you took advantage of the meals you weren't too bothered about this. Midnight buffets are a must!!!

Cabins
Cabins were small but all you want is for somewhere to crash out after an excursion or after a full meal and entertainment. You wouldn't use them for anything else! Shower was adequate but cold water sometimes turned itself off, leading to a few shrieks!

Entertainment
Went to most of the shows. The staff shows were of general good quality but the 'guest' acts depended on who it was they hired - some were excellent whilst others were dire. The staff's version of 'Stars in their Eyes' is a must.

Activities
Plenty of shore excursions were available, some reasonable and some expensive. Most of the ports on our itinerary (North Cape/Norwegian Fjords) you could go ashore yourself but there were one or two were you needed to go as a group due to the destination's distance. The swimming pool is a salt water one (!) but was little used as Norway can get quite cold when you are sailing

Who Goes
Got on fine with our co-passengers who we shared a table with but I can imagine that if you got with someone you didn't get on with it could be a nightmare! You could always ask to be swapped around though I don't know to what extent this could be accomodated.
