Overview
Island Calypso cruise was wonderful! We are Canadians and enjoyed the mostly British passenger list! This is great value for your vacation dollar (even canadian $) and everyone should try this at least once! The seven day tour goes fast and with only 2 days at sea, cruisers can be as busy as they like!

Public Areas
The walk around Promenade deck was never crowded and was lovely! The pool was a little small, but never over-crowded. Main lounges were well maintained but a little small during evening shows. The lounge chairs are very small but the sofas are very comfortable!

Food and Service
There was always a buffet on deck although we only used it 2 times! The dining room was always delicious although the menu was very British! Service was mostly good although the dining room managers get involved with tables a bit too much, especially near the end of the cruise when they expect their gratuities! Table waiters and assistants are excellent!

Cabins
We upgraded our cabin so we had a nice room with double bed! Being on Promenade deck was also great as we were close to everything on ship! The shower was adequate, but definately not large. Lots of closet space and drawers, the bed was not comfortable. The cabins need to be updated as they do show their age. Our maid, Basri, was exceptional and seemed to know our routine better than we did!

Entertainment
The cruise staff was very likeable, but the evening shows were tacky. Comedian was entertaining, but the Ukulele musician was just a foolish waste of time.

Activities
Santa Domingo was dirty, take a bus tour but do not just walk around by yourself! You will be surrounded by vendors trying to sell all types of crap! Just be careful, that's my best advice.

Tortello was beautiful, went on the catamaran snorkle tour and enjoyed it thoroughly. This I recommend. St.Maarten should be toured with a local. We signed up for See & Sea tour, the bus trip was great with a very informative driver. The underwater boat segment was a little disappointing (after snorkleing) but live and learn.

The last stop on this trip was a day on the beach at the companies private facility on Catalina Island. Very nice and the BBQ was excellent! This was the only stop where we used tender boats and that is a real plus on this ship!

Who Goes
As mentioned earlier, passengers were mostly British with the remainder from Canada. This was actually a nice thing as there were no obnoxious know-it-alls like there is on many cruise lines! The few Canadians at our dining room table were lovely people and we hope to keep in touch. Ages range from 30 up, but most are retired couples!
