Itinerary: Caribbean - Western

Overview
Without doubt don't consider doing it - Just get on and book, I will be back at the first opportunity. Service and food in all catering and housekeeping areas were of 5* Class. Itinerary and island barbecue day was brilliant.

Public Areas
Public areas were without exception comfortable and welcoming. Pool was small but the flowing water enabled you to gently swim without having to continually turn round. In spite of full compliment of passengers the vessel was not crowded.Casino was first class the staff very professional without being obtrusive.

Food and Service
There was only one dining room apart from dinner which was served on the pool deck on several evenings. Food was without doubt excellent the service could not have been better in any hotel. Breakfast was available in dining room or self service on deck. Variety was astounding. The staff deserve commending in all areas including busing.

Cabins
Ours was main deck outside M94. The fittings were past their best and space was very limited. The cabin staff did their best to keep it impeccable. Consider upgrading to suite if you want some comfort. Shower was very small and hot water supply indifferent. Only negative part of the cruise. Athletic neighbours very obtrusive.

Entertainment
The quality of the acts varied but in general much above average club acts. The cruise staff and entertainers were dedicated to their job in general. All staff in the dining rooms deserve commendation as do the chefs, cooks and buzz boys- what excellent service. 6* quality. Cabin steward was gem. Pursers staff were off handed - lacking in basic communication and social skills. Their body language indicated that passengers were a nuisance. A smile and open arms and hands can win friends. Conversations were taking place between staff at the pursers desk whilst customers were waiting. Tours staff were very efficient both in booking and service.

Activities
Join in everything - the activities around the pool - the gym - early morning tea - afternoon tea. The 11.30 pm specials and chocoholic evening, buffets in the lounges during cabaret -let the dining room staff celebrate your anniversary they will serenade you with total spontaneity. Chill out or just lay on deck and let the staff ply you with cold beverages. Tortola was paradise St Marten - heaven. Montego Bay - interesting. Santa Domingo - a port of passion, poverty and vibrancy. Go rafting in Montego Bay the "Captains" of rafts are trained psychiatrists.Catalina Island barbecue must not be missed,

Who Goes
Engineers married to teachers. Have already been to dinner with two couples. Canadians, Americans, Germans. Brits. No geriatrics or Saga Holidays the young were very much in evidence. No rowdy groups but vibrant and interesting people abounded.
