Itinerary: Mediterranean

Overview
Once on the ship we had a marvellous time - the crew and the service could not be faulted. The food was first rate, the entertainment good, the ship a nice size for a first cruise. Very god value for money.

Public Areas
Public rooms & bars all very comfortable and well arranged. There is a walk-round promenade deck if you want exercise. The casino is excellent, and there are two pools, but they are too small for serious swimming.

Food and Service
The dining room service and food are excellent. The complete catering/serving staff are to be complimented for their committment to excellence. The buffet food at the open Lido cafe was good, but the area tended to be a little crowded at peak times.

Cabins
Very compact, but well equipped and comfortable. Closet and drawer space adequate. Shower extremely tight for a large person like me, and the shower fitting itself was difficult to adjust. Cabins have minimal soundproofing, so keep your activities quiet, or entertain your neighbors. Stewards were excellent - cabin always pristinely cleaned and serviced.

Entertainment
Very good, very versatile. I have a couple of comments to make, and this is the only space. Be prepared for a long wait at Embarkation - surely some of the administration could be done before leaving home. Beware Mytours treatment of wheelchair passengers - my wife had to walk at Palma because they could not get our wheelchair from the hold - unlike every other airline I have flown with. But Sunbird's staff once we got there - brilliant.

Activities
Stopped at Naples, Messina, Valetta, Mahon. Missed Tunis due to weather. Always something to do on ship, and plenty of trips. The one we went on was only average, and did not really cater properly for elderly/not fully mobile passengers. Ask the tour desk before booking - they are helpful.

Who Goes
Friendly - we met wealthy retired people, and many people still working like us. Most of them were very sociable, and yes, I would have them to dinner.
