Date of Trip: June 29, 2002
Itinerary: Mediterranean

Overview
This was our second time on the Sunbird and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was excellent with a wide variety (as usual) and the staff cared for your every need. The activities on board were enough to keep you busy and fortunately the weather was fantastic as well.

Public Areas
The Can-can lounge was excellent at night for the daily shows. It was comfortable and kept in good condition. The chart room bar had wonderful panoramic views and although busy at night, you could sit in it during the day and relax in the shade and enjoy the tranquility.

Food and Service
The menu was one of our main highlights of both our cruises. There was a wide variety and everything was nicely prepared and delicious in taste. The waiters were the most friendly staff on the boat and even gave out roses made from napkins frequently. The Lido cafe was a brilliant way to eat if you did not feel like sitting down to a 5 course meal. Although it had much of the same menu as the restaurant it also had more informal dishes.

Cabins
We had an outside cabin on the B deck and it was suitable for our needs. There was enough wardrobe space but a few more drawers would have been welcome. The plug was above the mirror and unfortunately it could not handle the weight of the adaptor and the hair dryer so we had to find a way to balance it. The bathroom was fine but sometimes the temperature of the shower was hard to control. Our cabin was kept in perfect condition thanks to our cabin steward Orlando. He worked every morning and night to make sure we had a comfortable voyage.

Entertainment
We attended most of the shows and all were mainly excellent. The comedians Al Brown and Peter Pyper had us all in hysterics. The shows were excellent and the dancers worked hard. However the show Eclipse was not all it was hyped up to be.

Activities
On board the Sunbird there was plenty to occupy yourselves with. The pool was perfect to cool down in while others sun bathed. We did the Islands and Africa tour and also the mainland. All the tours were fab except for the port Bizerte in Tunisia. It was a culture shock and not a very clean respectable part of Tunisia

Who Goes
The passengers on the Sunbird varied from the toddlers to the elderly. We met a lot of nice people throughout the ship and our table mates from both weeks were excellent company.
