Overview
I had a wonderful time on my first cruise ever and now i am completely hooked. MS Carousel was a superb ship in which to spend my holiday on - the shows were great, the staff were superb! I particularly liked the meals in the Camelot restaurant, where you were treated like royalty and sang to after your meal each evening. I felt that the service provided on the ship was very efficient and always with a smile.

As far as the ports of call were concerned, I was not impressed with Tunisia, although Rome, Florence, France and Barcelona were great places to visit. Next time though I would definitely make my own way to where I wanted to visit, as the tours can be quite hectic!

Overall I feel that for first time cruisers the Carousel would be a wonderful experience and I know it is one which I will never forget!

Public Areas
I particularly liked the Midsummer lounge on an evening, as there was a late night disco which i thoroughly enjoyed and i spent every night in there. The other lounges were also very good, although i felt that the Carousel lounge was mainly for the older generation, due to me only being 20!

I did not go into the pool, but it looked very good and was not as crowded as i first expected! On an evening it was lovely to walk around the outside of the ship, as it was much quieter that during the day, with all those sun loungers!

Food and Service
I thoroughly enjoyed the buffet on the top deck and once again the service was excellent - the place was so clean and the waiters were so efficient. I still preferred the Camelot restaurant on the evening though, as the waiters were all so funny and made so much effort in making sure you were enjoying your meal. The singing afterwards was also very entertaining!

Cabins
I stayed on A deck and was impressed with the cabin, although it was a little on the small side! However, there was enough room to put away all my belongings and anyway, the cabin was only used for sleeping and getting changed/washed in - the rest of the time i was out exploring or enjoying the on board entertainment!

Entertainment
I went to every show in the showboat lounge after the evening meal each night and honestly enjoyed every one! It was a shame the audience did not clap along as much as i did - very enjoyable! The crew members were great and if they thought you were fed up (which i wasn't) they would come and see if you were ok! They even got me up dancing in the disco one night, due to me being on my own - they were excellent! The waiters in Camelot restaurant were also wonderful and even remembered my name and made me roses out of paper napkins - i was truly and utterly spoilt!

Activities
I visited many places during my cruise, including Rome, Florence, the leaning tower of Pisa, southern France and Barcelona! They were great places - i just wished i had more time to visit them more thoroughly! I do not have children, but i did see children in the kids room having a great time with the supervisors!

Who Goes
I met lots of wonderful people on the cruise. Everybody would talk to each other and i had a great laugh with some of the passengers. However, i probably wouldn't have invited them to dinner, due to the age gap! However old the passengers were on the ship though, i still had a great time chatting with them- young and old!
