Overview
Having never been on a cruise, the experience was brilliant. We had read all bad bits on sites like this, and our expectations were quite low, and our hopes were high. The whole holiday was excellent.

Public Areas
For younger people (20`s) there was no disco or nightclub, but the remainder of the entertainment was great, if a little `social club` in style.

Food and Service
Food was excellent, and overwhelmingly plentiful with a great selection of dishes at each main meal, and snacks at certain times in between.

Cabins
We booked a bottom of the range cabin, very early, and we got a cabin on the main deck, with a picture window. As you can imagine, we were over the moon. This happened to others on the cruise and we seem to think that the earlier you book, the more chance of an upgrade due to late discount bookings going in the cheap cabins.

Entertainment
The cruise staff and entertainment was great, but more suited to an older person.

Activities
The Spanish ports of Malaga and Cadiz were simply spanish seaside towns, Cadiz was less touristy. Lisbon was a beautifully preserved city, well worth a visit and the cruise to the portside was spectacular as we passed under a magnificent suspension bridge, not unlike the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The best place was without a doubt Gibraltar with so much to see and do, and all close to the port. The only problem with Gibraltar is that we only had 2 hours there due to port charges (or so we were told) not enough time, at least six hours are needed.

Who Goes
The British are well known for keeping themselves to thenselves. We were, and still are amazed at the number of people we talked to, and got to know. We saw this spirit on films but we never imagined is was real. By the end of the cruise everybody knows everybody else, and you talk to everybody. This was the biggest, and most pleasant surprise of all, and yes, we do write.
