Overview
A warm and friendly welcome awaits you when you step on board, especially if you have children as we did (3, aged 6, 9 and 9). This is a relaxed and very comfortable ship with excellent food and entertainment. Highly recommended and great value for money.

Public Areas
Showboat lounge got quite crowded on show nights, but the secret was to finish dinner quickly and get in for a good seat!Always easy to find a quiet corner in the ship, if you felt like some peace and quiet. Lots of cool bars and lounges. Didn't try casino. Dining room very pleasant and spacious. Liked the pool area as it provided some chance of shade, easy access to buffet food, also great for children.

Food and Service
Food was first class, served by friendly and entertaining waiters (literally, ours did magic tricks and origami for the children!). Wide choice, can recommend the fish dishes in particular which were delicious. Even had children's menu, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, pizzas etc, which went down well! Buffets on deck by the pool were also beautifully presented, varied, tasty and copious.

Cabins
We had two outside cabins on Main Deck, although we'd only booked one for us and an inside for the children. They were both bigger than we had expected, so we were all delighted. Cabins were kept clean and tidy, and had more than enough wardrobe space and space to store large suitcases. Bathrooms were small, with smallish shower but hey! You're on a cruise, not a land-based hotel!! Plenty of sea-proof containers, trays and stay-shut cupboards in case in got choppy (which it didn't).Soffa who tended our cabins was very popular with our children!

Entertainment
We went to most of the shows in the Showboat Lounge. The resident cast were EXCELLENT, particularly Nathan the lead dancer/singer. How they managed all the costume changes we'll never know! Comedian was OK, but much of the humour went over our children's heads, probably just as well! Singer was " bit of a belter" but very good ,and the audience responded well to her. Overall, first class again.

Activities
Trips are expensive, so if you've been somewhere before and have a rough idea of what you want to see, go for it. Otherwise be prepared to pay upwards of #40 per head for a "full day" trip to the likes of Rome, where you don't really have that much time to see all you would like, but at least you get a flavour of the place. Take plenty of drinks, too, as it got very hot!! We went to Bizerte (forget it!), Rome, Florence, Villefranche (very pretty, can recommend the little "train" that takes you for an hour long trip round the town for only #7!), Barcelone (recommend you do your own thing here as it's so easy to get into the city and easy to get around once you're there) and back to Palma.

Who Goes
Very cosmopolitan, Scottish, English, Welsh, Irish, Scandinavians, Canadians, all mixed well and were very friendly. Didn't make any particular friends but got on fine with our table-mates from the Isle of Man. Ages were from tots to totterers!
