Overview
We, two adults and a baby girl, just came back from a lovely cruise on this ship. It feels strange to then read the degrading text about this ship on this site. It was our first cruise so maybe we are just inexperienced. For the price we payed we had a great experience. The price experience ratio makes me give this trip four stars.

The most important thing to say about this trip is that the service was great. I don't think I have met more helpful staff, especially everyone was nice to our baby. This alone made it a nice trip for us and for all other people on the boat we talked to. Maybe different people like different things and that might be good to reflect on a site like this?

Public Areas
The public areas were clean and ok. The ship is old, no doubt about that, but it is also well kept. The promenade on the ships 5th floor is very nice.

The pool was of a good size but the water was cold until the afternoon. It could be heated that would be an improvement.

Food and Service
The food was plentiful and varied between adequate and really good. The food itself is no reason to go on the boat though. But for a family it is heaven not having to care for food for a week and just being able to go and get some good food from a buffet or getting it served from the friendly staff. Ant they always had time to talk to and play with our daughter.

Cabins
The cabins were small but quite adequate. We had no problem being two adults and a baby in them. No problems with noise. The cleaning and the room-service was great. Take it from us, we used it a lot since we had a baby. Anyone who complains about the cabins has probably never been traveling "for real" (camping, car, train etc.) in his or her life.

Entertainment
Since we were traveling with a bay we did not attend any shows and only some of the entertainment.

Activities
Besides the service, the itinerary is the strong point of this cruise. (Palma-Malta-Messina, Sicily-Naples-Olbia, Sardinia-Ajaccio, Corsica) To get to see the western mediterranean islands as well as Naples was great. Good composition of places of great cultural interest and more calm places.

We only tried a couple of activities. They are mostly directed towards older people who wouldn't go in to port. The childrens club was very much appreciated by the children on board.

Who Goes
Besides the friendly and helpful staff and the ports our fellow passengers chipped in to make the trip a good one. The fellow passengers were simply very nice. We had dinner with a lovely family from Northern Ireland which we will stay in contact with. Another couple, from Holland, were also extremely nice and helpful and many others were as well. Basically all of the passengers were very nice to us in general and specifically, to our baby.
