Itinerary: Caribbean - Western

We chose Pearl and NCL because we were looking for a middle of the road ship, not to young and not to old cruisers. We booked and then figured out that it was President's week and that the kids were off for vacation. Anyway we had them out numbered 500 under 18 so not too bad.

For being a full ship Pearl never seemed crowded. Public areas are in very good condition and sound systems were great. I liked sitting in the Reception area people watching or listening to the band that played just about anything. Pool area of course got filled up on sea days as one person in every party would get up early and block off their chairs that you would never see them at. Same went for the beach people were coming back on the first tender after covering a half a dozen lounge chairs. Human nature to be a jerk like that I was on the third tender and there were not chairs left so we went back to the ship.

Ten restaurants and no where to eat. It was a full sailing and if you did not reserve a table you either ate early or real late. I did not think the upcharge restaurants were worth the money - charge me an extra eighty bucks and forget the surcharges. Service was slow in the surcharge dining rooms and not any better tasting then one of the included dining rooms. If I had to choose one Mambo's was the best surcharge restaurant over looking the Atrium.

We had a balcony suite. This was the best room I have ever had on a ship. Plenty of room, bathroom was great you could take a shower and not be pressed up against the wall. Beds either configure into king size, two double with a pull down bunk that would block the view.

This was a highlight of the cruise. Every night there was something different and good Comedians. AN adult show at 11:30 every night.
We did western Caribbean to include Belize,Roatan,Cozumel and Great Stirrup Cay. We did the Arial and cave tour in Belize if you do this you will not have anytime other than this tour we were late getting back to the ship. We also did the behind the scene tour of the ship. This was very interesting for us gear heads my wife got a little bored with the trash area tour.
You name it people in Diapers to people in diapers and a walker. Probably more 25-35 year olds with older kids.
